Painting was my first medium. I predominately prefer to use oil on canvas when painting. Larger canvas seem to work best for my imagination. I love the layering of images and colours floating across the canvas like a memory screen of all things in my imagination. I find I like to let the paint dictate the end result and only loosely control the visual outcome. Printmaking demands precision and technique on all levels therefore painting allows my mind the space to interpret on a larger scale and using completely different tools and mediums. The two practices definitely overlap and influence each other often subconsciously.
